Dale Dougherty, founder of MAKE and Maker Faire, will talk with founders of five different maker spaces on how their spaces run, why they started, and what happens next.

Entreprenuer - STGO Makerspace

Beside being a man with a weird name Tiburcio is a serial Entrepreneur and hardcore Maker. He builded a workshop in his house with 3D printers and laser cutters. Because he felt lonely (and by recommendation of the marital counsel) he decided to open the Hack Space. He moved to Chile in 2003 to found Wanako Games, a leading video game studio developer acquired by Vivendi Games/Activision in 2006. In 2009 he founded Atakamalabs, adquired by DeNA in 2011. He is also founder of idea.me, a crowfunding service focus in latin america creativity.

Jason Goodman is the co-founder and Executive Director of 3rd Ward. Over the past five years, he has built an internationally recognized creative incubator in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Due to substantial infrastructure development, 3rd Ward has recently experienced explosive growth in membership and brand recognition. In the past three years, membership has multiplied more than 400% to over 1,000 members. 3rd Ward is also expanding nationally, leveraging its proven incubation structure to specifically serve each city's creative, entrepreneurial, and urban development needs. In addition to his work at 3rd Ward, Jason co-founded Artists Wanted in 2008 with Will Etundi Jr. Artists Wanted is a venture capital backed web startup delivering an online platform for artists to reach an enormous audience, exhibit and directly sell their work. Since inception, over 100,000 artists have joined Artists Wanted, and the site receives millions of views each month. Jason continues to serve Artists Wanted as a very active board member.

Technology Integrator and FabLab Administrator - The Marymount School

During the day, Jaymes Dec is a Technology Integrator and Fab Lab Administrator at the Marymount School. At night and on weekends, he facilitates workshops for kids and educators on digital design and fabrication. Through his work with HTINK, a technology education co-operative, Jaymes is focused on establishing The Makery, a maker space for families and educators in New York City. Until they find a permanent space, they are using a pop-up model to discover best practices and do market research. Jaymes received his master's degree from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. He was an Assistant Adjunct Professor at NYU, teaching a course on technology education. Jaymes is also the co-founder of City Hunt, a ten year old special events company.

Psytek is an inventor, engineer, and entrepreneur. He co-founded the Alpha One Labs community hackerspace in Brooklyn. He’s a proponent for hacker / maker culture and community.
