Program Director - Maker Faire

Sabrina Merlo comes to Maker Faire by way of her volunteer work as co-founder and producer of the East Bay Mini Maker Faire in Oakland, CA. She wrote the Maker Faire Playbook, a how-to guide for aspiring Mini Maker Faire producers, and is now Program Director of Maker Faire's Mini Maker Faire program. Sabrina also works on content for the Maker Faire flagship events.

Process and Programming Specialist - Union Station Kansas City, Inc

Luis Rodriguez is a husband, father, hackerspace member, and maker. He got into the Maker movement after purchasing a 3d printer and joining a hackerspace. He works at Union Station Kansas City, an 850,000 square foot historic train station that house a Science Center. He is infusing the Maker movement into the science center by opening up a Makerspace and FabLab. All of this is thanks to the positive influence of Maker Faire Kansas City, which started in 2011 at Union Station.

Producer - Westport Mini Maker Faire

Mark Mathias is the founder and co-chair of the Westport Mini Maker Faire. He is a 30+ year career information technology executive. Along with his professional career, Mark works on maker initiatives to support education and create jobs. Mark is in his third four-year term as an elected member of the Westport Board of Education, a member of the board of directors of CLASP Homes and is a member of the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club. Mark has two children, ages 14 and 7, has been married for more than 27 years and resides in Westport, Connecticut.

Producer - Calgary Mini Maker Faire

Shannon Hoover (Founder, Endeavor Arts and host of Calgary's first Mini Maker Faire) Shannon and his wife Maria founded Endeavor Art gallery to showcase contemporary Art of the digital lifestyle. As a gallery owner Shannon has worked with many local organizations including Digital Alberta, Beakerhead and Protospace to exhibit art and host events that are culturally significant in our digital age. Shannon grew up in a remote farming community in northern Alberta where Making was a necessity of life, and since then has spent over 20 years working in the technology and innovation industries.
