Daniel Kim

Founder and CEO - Lit Motors

Daniel’s eight years of research in vehicle architecture represents the intersection of innovation, business, design, and engineering. Kim has 13 automotive patents and at 23 he completely redesigned and built two biodiesel SUVs in a tandem production, doubling their efficiency from 15 to 31 mpg. After dropping out of Reed College, Daniel soloed through 106 cities in 28 countries on a shoestring budget comparing varying transportation systems and cultures. Prior to founding Lit he worked at Local Motors, MIT’s Vehicle Design Summit, Goloco, Squid Labs/Makani Power, and lead the design of inductive charging stations at MIT Media Lab’s Smart Cities.
