Maker Faire Detroit 2011

Mascot Head Costume Making

Using simple materials found around the house and the hardware store you can build your own custom mascot head. I will be doing a demo on how to make an apple head! (these were originally commissioned by my friend at www.lespetitespommes.com)

About the Maker(s)

Agnes Niewiadomski

Agnes is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto Ontario. She graduated top of her class in 2008 and took home the OCAD Medal for Sculpture/Installation- her program's highest honour. Since leaving school Agnes has kept busy working with her local community theatre, Theatre Ancaster, making props, costumes and designing sets. Upon graduation she also dove into the world of cake decorating by taking classes at her local Michaels store. Since then she's never looked at sugar the same way! She does custom order cakes from home and enjoys taking on new baking challenges- this year she made her first pie! Agnes not-so-secretly aspires to become more Martha-like every day even though she doesn't make the bed or sweep every day (sorry Martha). When she's not ogling over all the amazing stuff she finds in her daily Craftzine blog, Agnes also puts together costumes for the pure joy of making them and then becoming a spectacle. She looks forward to parading around in her creations once a year at Anime North in Toronto, ON and tries to find other occasions to wear them out whenever possible.
