Fiber Fanatics

Gayle Lee Still and Katharine-Ellen Jolda. Gayle makes a wide variety of fiber art: basketmaking, kumihimo, shibori, spinning on a charka and natural dyeing and paper making from mushrooms. Katharine-Ellen, of Felt the Sun, demonstrates her bicycle-powered drum carder to prepare wool for the making of hand-felted wool apparel. Katharine will also be making rope from natural fibers.

About the Maker(s)

Gayle Still

Spinning, natural dyeing and basketmaking has been my passion for over thirty years. As a founding member of the FunGals, we explore adventures in mushroom color and fiber creations. I find inspiration with the Spindles and Flyers, Bay Area and Great Basin Basket Maker Guilds, and from my students.
