The Electric Giraffe Project

For years now, The Electric Giraffe has been seen strutting about the Maker Faire, entertaining makers of all ages. And each year the giraffe has had something new to offer. The giraffe is slowly maturing from an experimental project to a fully operational robot capable of interacting with people all on his own. This year we will be demonstrating head and jaw pivot movement combined with the touch sensors on his head, plus voice controls and speech synthisis. The giraffe will look about his surroundings, and react more intelligently this time around to touch inputs and possibly, external sounds and movement around him.

Conceived and built by Lindsay Lawlor, and programmed by Russell Pinnington, the Electric Giraffe Project hopes to offer exciting new developments for years to come, and be a platform for robotics and electronics companies to showcase their products on board.

This year we are proud to welcome Futaba and Invenscience LC to our growing list of sponsors!
