A collaborative art project that emphasizes the effects of excess plastic on this finite planet. Participants attempt to live plastic free for 3 months, then make a 12" x 12" quilt square from the plastic that invites itself into their life. These are then joined together into a quilt.
The Plastic Quilt Project is a representation of artists, families, schools and individuals who are aware of the depth to which plastic affects our shared earth. What started out in 2007 with a group of 9 citizens in Portland has now grown to an International level with over 50 participants.
