The Plush Team Teaches YOU to design and create your own Softies

The Plush Team is a guild of highly skilled makers of plush sculptures/toys/creations. Our members are located all over the world. We work in a myriad of styles and techniques from traditional doll making to cutting edge amigurumi design. Our mission is to educate people about plush as both art and craft. Members of our team will be at Maker Faire to teach classes throughout the event on different aspects of Plush creation. Classes are free to attendees, with all materials provided by us. Each class is limited to about 12 participants and places are allocated on a "first come/first serve" basis. Visitors are welcome to sign up to hold their place for a class one hour before class time starts. Each class takes about 1 hour to complete a project. Plush Team members will be on hand to assist you with every step of the project! We encourage kids over 8 who meet the basic class requirements to take the plunge and create. (Psst...if Kid & Parent want to work together as a team; that's great you'll count as "one" participant.) At the end of the class, each maker will take home their finished project.

About the Maker(s)

The Plush Team

The Plush Team was founded in 2006 by a group of like-minded makers. With our inspiration based on the Guilds of skilled craftspeople during the Middle Ages, we look to educate and inform about the art and craft of Plush. Since our inception, we have participated in numerous group art shows and events. (Plush You, Stitch Wars, I am not your toy) The Plush Team was featured in Issue Two of Stuffed Magazine. Individual members have been recognized for their work throughout the world in media both large and small. We are most proud of our charity work. In the past 3 years we have raised funds for the Komen Fund for the Cure (Breast Cancer awareness, Red Cross, Mothers Matter and more.)
