Maker Faire

We asked if you wanted to do it again, and we heard your answer...Maker Faire 2007!

Wow!

What a stunning weekend it was. Over 20,000 Makers and Crafters of all ages converged for a weekend of projects, eye-opening demonstrations, recycling, entertainment, and fun under a warm spring sky in San Mateo, California. But as delighted as we were with the crowd size, the numbers only tell part of the story. Everywhere one looked, you saw wonderful, full grins on thousands of faces. Teenage girls gleefully modding new fashions from swapped clothing and textiles; parents and their kids building contraptions out of salvaged computer parts; robots putting out fires in model homes; The Crucible gang giving welding, blacksmithing, and glass bending demonstrations from the back of their fire breathing ERV; The Woz and his Aftershocks team demonstrating Segway polo.

We thought we'd post some of our favorite Maker Faire shots, as well as some great flickr links. If you have your own flickr collection you'd like to share, let us know about it.
